Abiquiu Art Project

STUDIO WORKSHOPS

Georgia O’Keeffe wasn’t the only artist who fell in love with Abiquiu. The dramatic natural environment and the rich cultures have captured the hearts of some of New Mexico’s best professional studio artists.

Now you have the chance to work with these artists in their studios. Debra Fritts, Joseph Hall, Walter Nelson, and Frank Shelton have each designed a one-day workshop that allows you the personal attention and creative indulgence you need to explore your favorite medium.

  •  Sculpture – Debra Fritts
  •  Abstract Metalsmith – Joseph Hall
  •  Paint, Photography, Sculpture – Walter Nelson
  •  Paint and Form – Frank Shelton

Animals have their own unique features and expressions (as any pet owner knows!). Using photos of a fur-bearing pet or wild animal for reference, here’s your chance to create an original portrait that captures its personality. Drawing with pastel pencil on toned paper, Helen’s demos and individualized instruction will guide you in rendering accurate proportions, challenging textures such as fur, and more.

**Please note: materials are not included. You will find a downloadable link to the materials list once you have registered.
